Paws in the Park celebrates 14 years of family fun

Paws in the Park returns to Cheltenham next month for its fourteenth year of family and canine fun.
Hosted by Cheltenham Borough Council in Pittville Park, there will be lots of great activities.
Janice Payne, the council’s community ranger, says: “Paws in the Park is one of my favourite annual events in the calendar. It’s a real pleasure to organise this event as it’s always very popular and so much fun. I’d encourage people to come along and experience it for themselves as it really is an enjoyable event for everyone, not just dog lovers.”
There will be many new charities, businesses and other organisations attending for the first time, including ‘Alder Holly’ a first aid company for dogs and ‘Rocky’s Rescue’ who will also be staffing the Scurry.
The hugely popular novelty dog show will take place from 12 noon (registration for the show is from 11am) with ten different classes to choose from including waggiest tail, most appealing eyes or your child's best friend. There’s something for all sizes, shapes and breeds of dogs!
As always, there will be over 60 stands promoting animal charities, pet services, photography and stores as well as glitter tattoos, bouncy castles, face painting, fairground games and refreshments.
Cllr Chris Coleman, cabinet member for clean and green environment, continues: “We’re really looking forward to this year’s Paws in the Park. It’s great to see days like this bringing the community together to celebrate responsible ownership and promote active lifestyles for the whole family – all within our award winning park!”
