Museum gets its Skates On and Santa takes to the Water in Gloucester

Reduced Price Admission for Skaters – 17 November to 2 January
Throughout this winter a real ice skating rink is open in Gloucester’s historic docks. From 17 November to 2 January visitors to the popular waterside location will be able to practice their spins, jumps and lunges against the backdrop of the National Waterways Museum, Gloucester.
This is the first time the Docks have hosted an ice skating rink and the National Waterways Museum is offering reduced price admission to all skaters who have a ticket for that day. Adult tickets to the museum will be £3 (usual price £5) and children £2 (usual price £3.60).
Santa Cruises – Saturday 10 & Sunday 11, and 17 – 24 December. 12.00pm, 1.30pm and 3pm
Father Christmas temporarily leaves his sleigh to set up his floating grotto on board the King Arthur this festive season. After making his traditional arrival – down the chimney – he will be ready to welcome families on a 45 minute festive cruise along the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal.
The cruise takes passengers along the sections of water recently seen in Disney’s blockbuster Alice Through the Looking Glass. Festive refreshments will be served and there will be Christmas gifts for all the children.
The cruise includes free entry to the museum where children can try their hand at seasonal arts and crafts and follow a special ’12 Trees of Christmas’ indoor trail.
Santa Cruise tickets cost £10 per person and can be booked by calling the museum on 01452 318200
The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday between 11.00am and 3.00pm .
Adult - £5, child - £3.60, 5s and under – Free, concessions (60+ and students) - £4
Annual passes, family tickets and concessions also available
