Weekend of Music at the Everyman Theatre

Events at the Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham

Hot on the heels of a record-breaking pantomime season is a weekend packed with musical treats for all at the Everyman Theatre from 15 - 17 January.

Motown legend Roy Hemmings is in town on Friday (15th January).  The longest serving member of The Drifters brings together the sound of three of America’s iconic labels, Motown; the Sound of Philadelphia and Stax Atlantic in one action packed evening featuring hits by The Three Degrees, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Stevie Wonder, Billy Paul, Four Tops, Temptations and Marvin Gaye to name a few.
Dance and sing along to hits such as Me & Mrs Jones; Don’t Leave Me this Way; Givin’ Up Givin’ In; Stop In The Name of Love; When Will I See You Again; Love Train; Get Ready; Woman In Love; Dancing In The Streets; How Sweet It Is; Hold back the night, My Girl and more.
Tickets are £24.

On Saturday (16th Jan) Graham Dalby and The London Swing Orchestra present a sparkling musical review of the lives of two of the greatest writers of 20th century musical theatre.
From the West End to Broadway and Las Vegas, Sir Noel Coward and his close friend Cole Porter wrote the most sophisticated melodies and wittiest lyrics each, in their own style, which were the work of pure genius.  Noel and Cole - Back To Back is their story.
Tickets £19 & £24.

A change of pace on Sunday (17th Jan) as The Simon and Garfunkel Story takes centre stage.  Following it’s West End success at the Leicester Square Theatre, London last year, The Simon and Garfunkel Story is currently the biggest and the most successful touring theatre show celebrating the lives and career of Folk/Rock sensation Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel.

Featuring seasoned West End, award-winning leading man Dean Elliott (Buddy Holly in 'Buddy - The Musical') and a full cast of talented actor- musicians, The Simon and Garfunkel Story takes you back through the 'Groovy'  times of the 1960s. It tells the story of both Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel from their humble beginnings as Rock n Roll duo 'Tom and Jerry', right through their massive success, dramatic break-up and finishing with a stunning recreation of the 1981 Central Park reformation concert.

Using a huge projection screen, the show features 1960’s photos and film footage whilst a full live band perform all their hits including Mrs Robinson; Cecilia; Bridge Over Troubled Water; Homeward Bound; Sound of Silence and many more.
Tickets £19 & £22.
