Hidcote Manor Garden is one of England’s great Arts and Crafts gardens. A profusion of colour contrasts with impeccably manicured lawns, the garden continues to influence garden design today. Whatever the season, there’s something to delight and inspire.
Created by the American horticulturist Major Lawrence Johnston in 1907, Hidcote is famous for its rare trees and shrubs, outstanding herbaceous borders and unusual plants from all over the world.
The gardens at Hidcote is divided by tall hedges and walls to create a series of outdoor rooms, each with its own special and unique character. From the formal splendour of the White Garden and Bathing Pool to the informality and beauty of the Old Garden, visitors are assured of a surprise around every corner.
The numerous outdoor rooms reach their height at different times of the year, making a visit to Hidcote enjoyable whatever the season.
