Batsford Arboretum
Batsford is home to one of the largest private tree collections in the country with something to see throughout the year. Enjoy early colour from the snowdrops, spring-flowering bulbs, spectacular Japanese flowering cherries and stunning Davidia tree; escape the heat under the tree canopy in summer and prepare to be amazed by the outstanding autumn colour! Wander through 56 acres of wild gardens, paths and streams’; marvel at stunning views across the Evenlode Valley and find beautiful oriental-influenced statues tucked into leafy glades. Batsford Arboretum is the perfect place to let the kids run around and let off steam or simply to enjoy a gentle stroll through the intimate and romantic tree collection.

Batsford Opening Times 2023
The Arboretum and Garden Centre are open from 9.30am-5.00pm Monday-Saturday and 10.00am-5.00pm on Sunday.
The main cafe is open daily from 9.30am-5pm (until 4pm during the winter months) for indoor and outdoor dining with breakfast served from 9.30am-11am, hot lunch served from 12-2.30pm as well as hot & cold drinks, cakes and snacks throughout the day.

Dogs welcome at Batsford Arboretum
Well behaved dogs are welcome throughout the arboretum and inside the main building – including the café. Please keep your dog on a short lead at all times (including inside the arboretum).
Free doggy bags are available at the arboretum entrance and dog water is available at several points around the visitor building and cafe. The streams and ponds around the arboretum are fed by a natural spring.
Disabled Access at Batsford Arboretum
The Visitor Centre at Batsford is specially designed to be accessible to everyone with the Arboretum entrance, Garden and Gift Shops and Garden Terrace Café all on one level as well as disabled toilets. Designated disabled parking is available immediately outside the main Visitor Centre.
The Arboretum is situated on a hillside and may prove a challenge to less mobile visitors and about 25% of the Arboretum is accessible by manual wheelchairs, but electrically powered wheelchairs and mobility scooters will make the paths easier to negotiate.
Traditional wheelchairs are available to hire - please call 01386 701441 to book. Wheelchair users are not charged an entrance fee for the Arboretum.
Two all-terrain vehicles called Trampers are available to book for a single slot only at 10.00am, 12.00pm or 2.00pm. Terms and conditions apply - visit the website for more information.
